# Milorganite

> Milorganite is a slow-release nitrogen fertilizer made from heat-dried microbes that have digested organic material in wastewater. Manufactured by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD), it has been used on lawns and gardens for 100 years. Apply every 8–10 weeks while grass is growing. Safe for use on lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, and vegetables when used as directed.
